Much like the existing iTECH120X, the new iTECH120X PRO is a lithium drop-in replacement for exciting systems, making it easy for those who already own a lead-acid or AGM battery to simply pull out the existing system and drop in either of the iTechworld lithium batteries. Both iTECH120X iTECHWORLD batteries work with 99 per cent of chargers.

The iTECH120X PRO offers 100 per cent usable capacity, allowing you to utilise the full 120Ah stored in the battery, rather than the 50 per cent of usable amps a lead-acid battery can supply. It is not recommended for lead-acid or AGM batteries to be discharged below 50 per cent, as the heat produced when charged back up can damage the cells and significantly reduce the lifespan. Comparatively, lithium batteries can be discharged to a higher level safely, providing more usable amps with no long-term effects – much to the delight of all travellers who enjoy heading off the grid.

The iTECH120X PRO is the toughest deep-cycle battery iTechworld has ever built. Designed to withstand Australia’s environment, the battery is IP67 waterproof rated, meaning you can submerge it under 1m of water for up to 30 minutes. While this might not be necessary for many motorhome setups, you can rest easy that it can be stored safely in exterior storage boxes. Weighing in at 12.5kg, the iTECH120X PRO is a lighter option than lead-acid or AGM batteries that can weigh up to 30kg – so you can either ride easy with a lighter load or make space for those luxuries you’ve always wanted to take on the road.

The design of this new battery features a new prismatic cell design, different to the type used in its predecessor. This new design offers more vibration resistance and stability for rough terrain with vibration dampening technology. Additionally, the iTECH120X PRO incorporates an all-new supercharged BMS allowing for less cell degradation. The battery is also suitable for under-bonnet applications, although iTechworld recommends using a heat shield. Please note, while the iTECH120X PRO is tough and ready to go, it cannot be used as a cranking battery.

Owners can also enjoy a longer lifespan of up to 4000 cycles with high current use, giving you approximately 10+ years of life, compared to the 3-5 years you might expect with a good quality AGM. The recommended charge current for the iTECH120X PRO is 1-60A, but the product is capable of going up to 100A. Enjoy a discharge current of 270A with peak discharge in five seconds, compared to the approximate 40A discharge rate of a lead-acid battery. To put  the power in other terms, the iTECH120X PRO will run a fridge for four or more days, based on a 1A draw, double what you might expect of a non-lithium battery.

Lithium Batteries

Projecta’s lithium battery range was launched late last year, providing powerful, safe and reliable products backed by six years of comprehensive development and testing. Projecta’s parent company, Brown & Watson International, was able to share its extensive experience and technology regarding lithium iron phosphate products, ensuring Projecta’s range reflected the company’s stringent standards.

The new 12V 100Ah Lithium Battery (LB100) provides a true 100 discharge current, capable of powering 1000W inverters, plus your fridge, and is compatible with Projecta’s Intelli-RV range, battery chargers, inverters and lithium battery monitors. The built-in BMS protects and extends the life of the battery, delivering over 2000 cycles. Projecta utilises lithium iron phosphate technology, ensuring not only quality but safety as well. The LB100 is equivalent to a 160Ah lead-acid battery and can be discharged down to 20 per cent depth of discharge without reducing the life of the battery. And with a weight of only 14kg, it’s suitable for adventures of all kinds.

The second new lithium battery to be released in Projecta’s 180 product upgrade is the 12V High Discharge 100Ah Lithium Battery (LB100-BT), which is an ideal companion for 4WDs and RVs that require plenty of power. Not only does the LB100-BT have an impressive 150A high discharge, it can also monitor the battery status via a smartphone or tablet using Bluetooth, allowing owners to check the State of Charge of the battery (SOC%) easily with  the power level indicator. Intelli-Start Lithium Jump Starters

With more than 30 years of experience Projecta knows what end users need when it comes to jump starters. They need their jump starter ready to go at any time with an expectation it will be safe, reliable and portable.

One of the smartest jump starters on the market, the Projecta Intelli-Start Jump Starters utilise the patented Rapid Recharge Technology (RRT) which can recharge directly from the vehicle it has just started in only 40 seconds. This means that you’ll always have a jump starter ready to go whenever or however often you might need it, rather than being left high and power dry with a flat jump starter. 

While the range varies in physical size, all remain lightweight which travellers will appreciate, and with lithium iron phosphate technology they are very safe and easy to use.

The IP3000 features an RCD ‘cutout’ switch for safety, ECO mode and an AC transfer switch. The IP inverter range has grown with the addition of these two new models, which now join the existing IP1000 and IP2000. Remarkably, all IP inverters enjoy a start-up power time of only three seconds, making them capable of starting larger devices than other comparable inverters. The range has recently been  upgraded to feature a five-year warranty.

The IDC25X DC-DC charger is the most advanced product Projecta has ever produced and is one of the toughest DC-DC chargers on the market. It is designed to withstand the harsh conditions of under bonnet mounting, not to mention Australia’s extreme climates, while still providing reliable charging. The IDCX program utilises MPPT charging that captures and harvests sunlight in a highly efficient way, meaning that it produces 25A of charge up to 75°C — which is ideal for under the bonnet mounting.
